I was contemplating whether or not to post this here, but it was well-liked elsewhere...maybe because they were a bunch of Metric/Emily Haines fans, but still. XD This drawing has grown on me, then off, then on again, and off and on, but I like the technique. I discovered trois crayons technique sometime in April, and luckily I had the proper Conté colours and some leftover pastel paper, so I tried it here. At school we had assignments to use the paper's colour as a midtone, but I think I finally got it down in this drawing. Or I've gotten closer, at least.
I tried working on it more so it would look a bit more like her, but I messed it up, so...this is it. XD Pretty upset I upset the pretty. There's actually a little more to the drawing, but I guess this is the best photo of it, haha. Even if it doesn't look that close to the original photo, it was still fun to do. I'll have to give this a try again.

I'm surprised I never commented on this before, tbh, since it really stood out to me while I was cruising through my overfilled inbox. Haven't been good with conte myself, but it sure seems that I'd never be good at it, so I really do admire what you've done with it. v: Love the texture and the bit of warmth, though where you placed it makes it seem cooler. Or maybe it's the shape of her face. o: Either way, I think she's still pretty!
